Park Slope, Brooklyn
Park Slope was called the "best place to live in New York City" by New York Magazine:
Park Slope is the very definition of a well-rounded
neighborhood [...] with excellent public schools, low crime, vast stretches of green space, scores of
restaurants and bars, a diverse retail sector, and a
population of more artists and creatives than even
its reputation for comfortable bohemianism might
suggest.
Park Slope is a residential neighborhood, part of "brownstone Brooklyn," known for beautiful 19th-century townhouses and tree-lined streets. However, there are also many restaurants, bars, live music venues, coffee and tea houses, markets, and boutiques, all within walking distance of the apartment -- we are located on 9th Street just off 7th Avenue, one of Park Slope's main streets. Also within walking distance: Prospect Park (ice skating, biking, boats, a zoo, and free summer concerts and outdoor movies), Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum, Grand Army Plaza (hosts a year-round weekly farmers' market), Brooklyn Academy of Music (live music, theatre, dance, film), Barclays Center (sports stadium/concerts), and Barbès (a really great bar/performance space). The nearest subway is just few steps away: the F/G 7th Ave stop. The F will take you directly to Manhattan or to Coney Island, and the G will take you directly to Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The next-closest subway is the R train, a few blocks away at 9th St. and 4th Ave. Click here for a full map of the New York subway system. For all public transportation directions and travel times, see Google Maps or HopStop.com.
